I
am a member of the Naval Medical Technologies Project (NMTP), a research and development
project focusing on emerging medical applications of information
technology. My responsibilities are the
design and development of a data warehouse and aggregation tools for armed
forces medical data as well as the integration of the data repository into a
web application for performing epidemiological analysis, medical surveillance,
and chemical and biological warfare detection.
I am primarily working with Oracle8, PL/SQL, Java, and C.
Software Engineer
Liquidseats.com
9/1/2000 - 12/1/2000
San
Carlos, CA
I
was part of the team responsible for the design and development of the initial
implementation of Liquidseats.com's consumer site, intranet, and co branding
technology, based on ColdFusion 4.5 and Oracle 8. I designed and implementing the geographical and genre based
navigation and classification systems, search functionality, partner site co
brand support, and integration with the Fedex automated shipping system. The consumer site can be viewed by going to

Software
Engineer
Collegeclub.com
5/2000 - 8/20/2000
San Diego, CA
I
was responsible for the integration of the Versity.com’s Dynamo and Oracle8i
based systems (user authentication, features, and content) with Collegeclub’s
ASP/SQL server based systems, after Collegeclub.com acquired Versity.com. I also worked directly with Oracle software
engineers to deploy a prototype high capacity email system, based on their
Imessaging product, in an attempt to significantly increase the site’s email
system capacity.
Senior Software Engineer
Versity.com
1/1999 - 5/2000
Menlo
Park, CA
I
was one of a small team of Software Engineer/Web Developers who designed,
developed, and maintained several generations of the Versity.com web site and
corporate intranet. I had the opportunity to participate in the challenges and
successes involved in taking a site with a few hundred users to a site with
over half a million users, often exceeded 1200 simultaneous sessions at our
peek times. My responsibilities were wide ranging. I designed and implemented a
large number of systems for both our web site and our extensive corporate
intranet. These systems include site traffic statistical tracking, a
sophisticated content management system for our main product (college lecture
notes), an instant messaging system for site users, and a hierarchical
knowledge base that re-classified our content by academic discipline.
